Introduction
A spacious 31-acre recreational park with jogging trails, a lake, a dancing fountain & English tea room. There are 9 lawns each depicting a different phase in the history of the fight for independence.
What to Expect?
The park is only 3km from Pusat Bandaraya Johor Bahru and was officially launched in 2011 as a community recreational park. There are a total of 9 laman or lawns, each depicting a chapter in the history of the country's fight for freedom.
The large, sparkling lake, along with the trees and green open spaces offer you a serene and peaceful environment for visitors to wind down their day.
There are over 31 acres to explore and as such, it's the perfect place for people to walk, sight-see, jog, exercise, rock climb, swim or just come out for a breath of fresh air. Here, big and shady trees are planted to provide refreshing cool air. Parking is ample and free of charge. Scheduled group exercise such as aerobics and Tai Chi are held in the park too.
There's also the lookout twin-towers that visitors can climb to enjoy a paranomic view over the park.
Various facilities are available in the park, including exercise equipments, playgrounds and an amphitheater.
Visitors can also stop by in the evening to catch the fountain that's light up by colorful LED lights:
There's also a cafe that let you take a rest and enjoy a drink with the serene park view as backdrop.
If you are planning to go for a walk or jog, you'd go through a landscape that brings you close to nature, as there are a great number of shady trees. The trees not only cool the park, but provide a shady retreat for you to rest and catch your breath, after a brisk walk or jog.
The route gives you a choice of surfaces and elevations for a good workout. There are tarred roads that have a gradient that is flat and hilly, as well as surfaces that are sandy and stony. It is recommended that you wear a good pair of walking or jogging shoes to prevent any injury.

2 weeks agoSpacious area to walk/jog/run around. The water was murky with a thin layer of light green algae that makes it suspiciously looks like a thin layer of oil. It has plenty of big fish like catfish and tilapia. Some plastic bottles floating around. Abandon water park for children nearby, and some metal construction materials laying around. I'd recommend parents to have eyes on their kids for safety when exploring around this area.

3 weeks agoNice place. But the maintenance suck. Many rubbish floating on the pretty pond. Toilets are not working and very smelly. Some refurbish and renovation works is on going, but my suggestion is look into the fundamental problem 1st, as no matter how good is the facilities, lousy maintenance works will lead to failure. Hopefully the management will look into the matters immediately. Thank you

a month agoTempat dah ok. Sayang a lot of facilities left abandoned. Look out tower was cordoned off maybe due to safety reasons. So called "kids pool" dried up. Maybe coz MCO... but it's already been quiet some time already. Saw a few workers working but don't see them working on the abandoned facilities instead working on something new... the pond was amazing ecspecially for children. So many fish and turtle...
Hope the authorities can fix up this area ecspecially those abandoned facilities. Surely a lot more visitors will come -

4 months agoSee many joggers here and even someone doing a 1 Ringgit massage business here! Super cool. Really love the vibe of this place. Seems like the only proper park around JB near the custom to SG. Wishing there were more parks around here to mix with the city life here. Unfortunately I think this is the way Malaysia works (not usually maintaining things well - I mean this as a fact and not as a diss) though I know there are still many amazing humans here too. If developers were willing to build parks next to their homes, maybe it'd be a comfortable and balanced livelihood too. The park was not the cleanest but it is considered quite clean in Malaysia standards I believe. I'm not so sure about the public toilets here and what else is open/closed as there seems to be many other facilities around but again- were either not built finished or not well maintained. I think there is a mix of history here as well in some of the murals so that was really interesting to see and take pictures of. Overall, I'd come here again and is a super chillaxing place to be - as I can see many families, couples and friends hanging out here too.
