Botanical Garden (Taman Botani)

4 months ago"Very good and well maintained botanical park. It surrounds a man-made lake and covers a very wide area. There are several theme gardens, an exhibition hall and some sponsored pavilions.
This is a good place for an early morning or evening jog. Great place for photo sessions. Unfortunately there aren’t enough benches for resting especially for the elderly and young children. Also not enough restrooms around the park. I hope they add these in the near future.
I also wish they had better signage for the various theme gardens and photo-spots. Some of the trees, shrubs and plants are not labeled. All areas for improvement.
Having said that, this is still a beautiful park and good for family picnics. (Remember to clean up after you’re done and don’t leave any trash ..." View

but the place would do better with better management for the animals. some of the horses were quite thin and were very hungry.
the water "bowls" were also empty for most of the animals.
the water for the turtles were also very green, could barely see the turtles. same goes for the pond, which we couldn't even get a glimpse of the bottom. some of the plants they had (mint, etc) were also dying.
hope they fix this soon!
big farm with unfortunately sad animals.
entrance fees was RM10 per adult and RM20 for the food basket." View

Be observant and you can find creatures in the mud, in the water and on the trees. There are information on the species of trees along the walk. Place is well taken care of by the community of the area so visitors, please DO NOT LITTER or make noise. If you come across wild macaques (monkeys), please refrain from provoking or feeding them! Have fun. ?" View

The cruise has schedule to follow so buy your ticket and be early. Then I went again in Feb 2023. This time in group of 25. The lift is under maintenance. What an unlucky day since this group got elderly. We cannot make it on time but the management help us to reschedule. Kudos to Mr Azri and team for allowing us to board at 6pm. Overall it is an amazing and enjoyable experience especially for my children." View

There are public toilets near the car park. Beware of thieves in the parking lot here, theft happens a lot. My friend once encountered this situation. Monkeys and Asian water monitor can also be seen here. Gym equipment is strategically placed around the park, making it easy for anyone to exercise. I had a lot of fun and cosiness there. Sit by the lake and feel the breeze?" View

A good place to celebrate your kids' birthday. Might need to closely monitor your kids if they are below 3 years old (need to climb up and down with them, quite tiring). This is one of my son's favourite place to go. The ticket price during weekends are slightly higher than weekdays. Need to bring your own anti-slip socks otherwise you may purchase with the price of RM8 per pair at the counter." View
Toy Museum Penang

To this day I still remember vividly how we bumped into the founder himself in person and saw how he tirelessly walked under the hot island sun with a straw hat on (he's always seen in a formal button-up attire) as he pass around leaflets promoting his proud 'museum'.
Which is why we decided to visit again at his new location, thinking the kids would enjoy them (lies, we just need a place nearby to kill time). Little did we know that the new location was just 'indigestible remnants' of our past visiting experience. I do admire the fact that he'd actually collected something from my time (Buffy the vampire slayer) so western pop culture is a ..." View

Acceptable price and extra credits to the friendly uncle who welcomed us at the counter. I was able to get close to many animals like birds, rabbits, ducks, chickens, horses, fish, goats, deers, cows and a camel. It was eye opening for a city girl like me who seldom get the chance to experience nature.
However, it was saddening at the same time to see the poor conditions for the animals. The horses, certain goats, cows and camel were all tied up to poles using super short strings which restricted their movements. The camel could barely move its head to scratch itself and the worst part is the farm offers camel riding service when it looks so old, weak and sick. The environment was dirty for the animals ..." Arulmigu Sri Rajakaliamman Glass Temple

5 months ago"A racist attitude, they will charge anyone who isn’t Hindu an entry fee of 10RM per person. 20RM for a temple about 5m wide. The temple is unclean and the glass panels just aren’t worth seeing. It’s a construction site too.
The final straw was how rude they were in there. Beware the nice comments are from Tamil names, which means they are the ones who didn’t pay an entry fee. Go to any Chinese temple, mosque in this country and they won’t charge you a fee you can happily donate - nothing is forced. Avoid avoid avoid. (Even Batu Caves don’t charge you)" View
