Introduction
The Melaka Islamic Museum showcases artifacts and historical documents related to Islam religion, all housed within buildings designed in traditions of Islamic art and local craftsmanship.
What to Expect?
The museum contains over 100 exhibits including religious texts and documents, displays on the five tenets of Islam, a collection of krises bearing inscriptions from the Holy Quran, paintings of mosques, wood carvings and books. The museum tells the story of how Islam came to be introduced to Malacca and spread around the region.
Of particular interest is a replica of the oldest Quran in the world. There is also a replica of the Prophet’s sword.
It is also a research centre on how Islam was brought into Melaka and its subsequent spread to the rest of Malaysia.

3 years agoVisited back in Feb before the lockdown. This museums is all about Islam and Islam in Melaka and Malaysia. The museum is over 2 floors. The first floor covers basics of Islam and what it means to be a muslim. The information covers the basics with a little more depth, which made it a more interesting. There were even some exhibits on Islamic designs and what they represent e.g the architecture sculptures that adorn Islamic style buildings.
The second floor was quite boring though. It does go into more depth about the organisation of Islam, important Malaccan religious people and religious education in Melaka. Something I imagine would only be of interest to a muslim and even then maybe not.
Overall, I learnt a little bit more about Islam, so that’s a good thing. -

a year agoVery nice and informative regarding the history of islam. You can learn so many things. Its nice to visit there to see the laws prviously implemented by muslims, the sword of Hazrat Muhammad S.A.W namely zulfiqar is really worthy to seen there. There are also some gold items used by the previous kings of various different parts of the world. Melacca is the historical place and this musem exist in the middle of Melacca city where you can enjoy the cruise as well. You can also visit so much church nearby. Recommeded to visit this museum if you are going to Melacca, Malaysia. This place attract international tourists.
