Introduction
The convergence point at Masjid Jamek KL is the key attraction of the river regeneration and restoration project that includes new fountains, murals, riverside cafes, long bicycle paths and night-time light shows which turn the water a stunningly bright blue.
What to Expect?
The River of Life today is one of the most iconic parts of Kuala Lumpur. Located near Masjid Jamek Sultan Abdul Samad, the oldest mosque in the city, it is a convergence point of two rivers: the Klang River and the Gombak River. The Klang River, known as Sungai Klang by the locals, streams through the regions of Kuala Lumpur and Selangor and eventually into the straits of Malacca.
The Gombak River is another major river in the Klang Valley. What began as an expensive urban river restoration project has paid off, as the River of Life has been listed as one of the top 10 most beautiful waterfronts in the world!
The Dancing Symphony Showtime
One of the main attractions is the “Dancing Symphony Fountain”, featuring a hi-tech water system installed that sprouts to various rhythms of music. Dubbed the "Blue Pool" thanks to the cobalt blue lighting that transforms the river into a brilliant blue shade., the musical pieces are a combination of national songs and pop culture.
So, if you’re planning to catch it, you ought to know that they have several showtimes for different pieces of music. The showtimes are listed below:
- Asma-ul-husna: 9.15pm
- Warisan (Sudirman): 9.30pm
- Jambatan Tamparuli: 9.45pm
- Star Wars Theme Song: 10.00pm
- Rolling in the Deep (Adele): 10.15pm
- Negaraku (Faizal Tahir): 11.00pm

in the last weekAn experience not to be missed by everyone, including the locals. The river comes to life with the mist show. Not sure how frequent the mist comes on. There could be some schedule, possibly. A sight to behold. A must visit.

in the last weekAwesome view at night. The river looks amazing with the blue led light. Kinda look like I'm in a fairytale story. For girls, make sure you bring 3 to 4 friend for your own safety. There's a lot of mat rempit hanging out at there. Better be safe than sorry. Overall, it's a nice place.

2 weeks agoNice place to hangout after the revamp. During the day, one can appreciate the beautifully painted murals meanwhile at night the river is well lit with colorful spotlights with smoky effects. City council should manage the homeless people sleeping on the benches here. A must visit side in KL city.

a month agoBeautiful stretch, with quite many runners, cyclists on weekends. It is not shaded so do tend to get quite hot -- more suited for early morning or late evening. Due to constructions you do have to detour into roads and away from the path for some parts.

2 weeks agoIt's quite nice to come at night, I saw a lot of families bringing their children here at night. Some cycled and there was one area where teens were skateboarding. Mysterious mist were sprayed on the surface of the river when we came, we really want to know why ?. Also when we came, a huge python was on one side of the river, it sort of became an attraction there. Didn't know how a huge python ended up in the middle of the city like that. Also, there were some homeless people sleeping around the river on the benches, I didn't mind them, but some people might feel uncomfortable.
