Introduction
Langkawi Sky Bridge is a 125-metre (410 ft) curved pedestrian cable-stayed bridge in Langkawi. The bridge deck is located 660 metres (2,170 ft) above sea level, hanging high up in the sky and soaking in the exhilarating views of mountains and the sea below.
What to Expect?
Located 2,300ft above sea level, the Sky Bridge is easily accessible by the Langkawi Cable Car. The journey to the top starts out at the Oriental Village in the upper northwest of Langkawi Island, near Pantai Kok. Once the cable car gets going it gets a little chilly as winds flow through the ventilation slits at the top, so put on a sweater beforehand.
It is a curved suspended bridge made of steel that hangs at an altitude of about 700 meters from the sea level and supported by a single pylon in the middle. The pylon which is a tall tower like structure, has a record breaking height of 82-meters from the point where it is grounded on a ridge and keeps the bridge suspended in an open space next to the peak of Mount Mat Cincang.
Spectacular Views
The views on the way to the top of Langkawi’s second-highest peak include those of the Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls and the rainforest. After travelling a few hundred feet upwards, the cable car levels outs and stops at the Sky Bridge, the final station. Near where you disembark, there are dozens of stalls selling souvenirs, toys, snacks and drinks. Those with a fear of heights might be a little afraid of the altitude, but it is a very safe bridge with double steel railings and an enclosed wire mesh. The 1.8m wide bridge has two triangular platforms that act as ‘stops’ where you can admire the view and rest your feet.
Here, you’ll see a set of narrow stairs that cut through the forest leading to the observatory deck, the highest point where the sky and sea views are truly unobstructed. In fact you can even see Tarutao Island in Thailand. The end of the steel bridge that extends out from Mount Mat Cincang to a neighbouring mountain is the part of the Sky Bridge that is unforgettable.
Tips
- If it is cloudy around the bridge and the peak of Mt. Mat Cincang, you won't get any views. So see from the base (i.e. Oriental Village) if there is any cloud formation before you buy your tickets. It's common to expect foggy and windy weather.
- There can be a long queue at the cable car ticketing counter as well as at the gondola waiting area. The total waiting time can be well over an hour depending on the time and day of the week. So go early before the counter opens.

a month agoGreat place for sightseeing. Minus one star because the small train that took people from cable car point to sky bridge are too crowded (only one available for up and down trips) and later it was broken down lol. We had to do small hiking without any preparation including wearing unsuitable shoes and kids. However the view is mesmerising enough but not enough to forget about the hiking ?

a month agoSuch a nice place to visit with the family. Please take the Sky Glide from the cable car station if you don't want to sweat it out going through the nature path. It can get quite windy and misty. If you want to skip the queue, please take/buy the Express Lane option.

2 weeks agoThe best view point in Langkawi. Or even in Malaysia, maybe! A curved suspension bridge on top of the mountain! You'll see the city below turned so small. But with mountainous background and the sea beyond, it's such an amazing view!
