Taman Gelora

"A wonderful place to go for your walks or jogging. Located close to the beach, in the silence n solitude, you hear the waves splashing. The sea breeze is for us to enjoy nature.

Here and there you see squirrels and hear the birds singing.

You see parents bringing kids and not forgetting the senior citizens who come for their strolls.

Daily you see some aerobic classes going on. You have variety level of Japanese stones to walk on too.

Old and young enjoy this lovely park.
The convenience of a wash room available for men n women. Plenty of parking space.

This park is maintained by the local council

Just in case someone is not sure, Taman Gelora with its lotus pond is located in Kuantan {Jalan Teluk Sisek}"

Serendah Recreational Waterfall

Khor Yong Kean

"A beautiful waterfall, easily accessible, safe and suitable for children and a good picnic spot. To come here, you have to drive through a narrow road via orang asli village. It is quite crowded during weekend. Entrance fee is RM2 per car. There is a carpark nearby the waterfall. There are toilets and changing room facilities, but rather dirty and not well-maintained. There are also stalls selling foods and camping tent for rent here. The stream here is suitable for children, it is shallow and the water current is not too fast and strong. It is worth a visit if you are at Serendah. Sekeping Serendah is nearby, there is also a public fish pond for anglers nearby the waterfall."   View

"Nice environment with huge man-made lake and sprawling garden. Clean and well-maintained walking/cycling trail. It's great place to hangout with family and friends to do excise especially cycling, jogging, kayaking, canopy walk and picnic. Not so crowded during covid-19 period and able to maintain social distancing with each other.

There are bicycle rent provided for kids and adults.well maintained bike with rm10/hour. Come early for bicycle rent before it's rent out- unfortunately we're arrived at 9++am, need to wait for next bike rent session at 1030hr: bike rent counter 0900hr-1200hr,1400hr-1700hr."

Lubuk Timah Fall Hotspring and Recreational Centre

"Not a bad place to go for a family outing. They have added lodging now. The hot springs still not so great. Too small and not that inviting. We found it a bit unhygienic too. The river swimming is still good. The horse ride we came twice both times unable to take it one due to rain another due to horse being sick. The ATV was okay not great 3 rounds on the track for rm5.00. The cafeteria serves nice fried dishes but they have to do something bout the flies. When started eating only a few but as we ate they become more and more even seeing us swatting the flies away the operator did not even take any action to assist with the issue. Need to improve mpre on the service really. Still not a bad place to go."   View

Bukit Merah Orang Utan Island

"Drove there today. It was easy to drive there from Penang. From Batu Ferringhi we left at 8am and got there at 9:40 just in time for the first ferry. First ferry is at 9:45. You drive into the resort and walk through the resort to the ferry dock. At the ferry dock you buy tickets for the Orang Utan island. Ticket includes ferry there and back and the island ticket. There's a small shop on the island selling tshirts that my kids liked. And some snacks. As we pulled up to dock at the island we could see small orangutans and a couple larger ones playing in the trees. As soon as we got off we could see some large orangutans playing and eating at a platform in the water near the boat dock. The guide quickly started us on our walk along the path into the habitat. She was wonderful and very kn..."   View

National Planetarium

"During this times, it closed. Even fountain also dried-up to save water & electricity, I think?? So far, this is the best planetarium that attracted most kids wanted to come here. I still remembered there is a space theatre and a lot of things related to science and astronomy. Worth to visit and entrance is free at that times.

For tourists, best way to come here is by the bridge links from Muzium Negara or using MRT Muzium station or thru Sentral station instead of front entrance Perdana Botanical garden thru Dataran Merdeka. Because you need to walk all the ways up the hill to here unless you willing to wait for the caddy tour. But from here, you either go back to Muzium or walking down to the lake."

"Nice location, it would be good for nature lovers can enjoy nature walk, top view is good... Bridge in between of high raised trees, can enjoy the nature fragrance, different trees, well planned? photo lovers can surely get capture few good scenes ?

There r 2 ways to reach Habitat,
From Penang hill lower station and walk to Habitat (trains ticket (12 local / expats, 40 foreigner/tourist)
From botanical garden - no personal cars allowed should book a car (~150) for 4 people operated by tourism - but this ride will be thrilling for those traveling first time on steep / hill roads
- it is also allowed to walk from botanical garden, ~5 kms but it's going to be really difficult those not use to walk on hill ) steep way

Entry price is little expensive (different..."

Han Chin Pet Soo Museum

"It was really informative visit and amazing experience in this historical museum. The tour guide is very enthusiastic in explaining the history of Ipoh and the Miner club as well as the life of Hakka people (one of the Chinese subgroup in Malaysia). I have learned so so much for that one hour trip. I would tell my friend that it is a must to visit to this place when travel to Ipoh.

The museum is run by a non-profit organization and the admission is free, therefore I would strongly recommend that visitors to donate a small amount of money to keep this unique museum continues to operate."

Entopia by Penang Butterfly Farm

Mark Lovatt

"Great place to take the kids for a few hours. Lots of insects, spiders, scopions and of course butterflies. Our children are aged 8, 5 and 2 and they had a lot of fun running around looking at all this. The staff were very helpful and friendly too. The entrance fee is quite high for a family but it was definitely worth it.
A few of the displays were closed /under renovation. Also the cafe is spacious and the food is good, but a little pricey: RM24 for a chicken sandwich with fries was a bit much. But overall it was a really good day out. We were there for about 3 hours excluding lunch and the kids loved it the whole time. Recommended."

Tanjung Tualang Tin Dredge No. 5

"A very interesting place to bring your family. Do spent a bit (RM15) to follow the guided tour of the last Tin Dredge in Malaysia vs RM5 to visit surrounding area of the dredge with newly Maze park. There's a lot of history and information here to learn. Do visit their Maze park complete with rabbits and chicken cute area.

Covid-19 SOP adhered here. All safety helmets will be sanitized properly for the next tour group (about 20 person / group). They also disbursed each participant with complimentary postcard which they encourage you to complete and drop it inside the post box hidden in secret area within the maze. They will attached the stamp and post it over to the addressee. Good idea."
