Introduction
Located in the serene and scenic famous Lake Gardens, the KL Bird park is also well known as "World's Largest Free-flight Walk-in Aviary", offers a 20.9 acres of verdant valley terrain to be explored.
It is home to more than 3,000 local and foreign birds of approximately 200 different species.
What to Expect?
Once you're there, you're free to spend the rest of the day exploring the park's different amenities, such as Hornbill Park, Bul Bul Land, and more.
Check out the 200 fascinating bird species inside, including Sulfur-Crested Cockatoos, Yellow-billed Storks, and the Crowned Pigeon, the largest pigeon species in the world! In an adventurous mood? Experience the makings of a lush rainforest as you step into the Free-flight Walk-in Aviary, filled with lush trees, wild vines, flowing rivers, and hundreds of birds freely milling about.
Get up close and personal with the birds as you join feeding activities and watch the exciting shows and performances scheduled throughout the day! Rest and recharge at the Sandwich Bar or at the park's kiosks, where you can enjoy some refreshing fresh coconuts, cool off with ice cream, or go for some savory food. Remember to pick up a souvenir from the gift shop on your way out to remind you of this fun day in nature!
The park is divided into 4 zones:
Zone 1 and 2 make up the free-flight zone;
Zone 3 is the Hornbill Park and Zone 4 is where the birds are placed in separate cages and mini aviaries.
One of KL Bird Park's most extraordinary feature is that in Zone 1, 2 and 3, birds are let free in the aviary which closely resembles their natural habitat. With this free-flight concept, birds are able to breed naturally in this unique environment.
The main feature that distinguishes KL Bird Park from any other bird parks is the concept of free-flight.
This concept of free-flight not only provide the patrons of the park, kids and adults alike, with an experience that closely resembles life in a tropical rainforest, but it is also perhaps the best way to ensure the survival and species continuity of these birds.

in the last weekWent to KL Bird Park to learn and practice some shooting of birds. It is a nice place with lots of different types of birds.
Although the bird's freedom are in restricted conditions, it is still nice and educational to pay a visit.
Hey, Malaysian senior citizens only pay RM15 for entrance for the whole day, so why not pay them a visit if you have the opportunity. -

in the last weekSuper place for kids to spend the day. Visited with my daughter who loved the birds and the bird show. Free roaming birds inside and other wildlife like monkeys, squirrels etc.
The highlight of the visit was the bird show lasting about 15 minutes but the tricks are spectacular. Other things to see are the chick hatchery, emu feeding and parrot aviary. The parrot enclosure is fun as they will descend on you if decide to you feed them (photo op alert !).
Public Wifi available at the restaurant and decent snacks / ice cream available in the park. -

a week agoGreat educational experience to get up close with birds that roam relatively freely. Such diverse and beautiful birds. Feeding the emu with vegetables was such an interesting experience. It was free. Can buy tickets at the counter on arrival. No long queue even on a Sunday afternoon. Parking might be a bit of a challenge to get.

2 months agoI visited the bird park in Kuala Lumpur and I have to say, I was blown away by the experience! The park is home to over so many species of birds, and it's amazing to see them up close in their natural habitats.
The park is incredibly well-maintained, with spacious enclosures that allow the birds to fly freely and interact with each other. The staff are also very knowledgeable and passionate about the birds, and they're always happy to answer any questions you might have. One of the highlights of my visit was the bird show, which was truly breathtaking.
Overall, I would highly recommend a visit to the bird park in Kuala Lumpur. It's a wonderful way to spend a day surrounded by the beauty and majesty of nature.
