Introduction
Covering an area of 30.35 hectares out of which 14.16 hectares consists of the lake, the park is divided into two sections. It is developed around a scenic backdrop of limestone hills of Gunung Lang and Gunung Bilike. The main attractions are the man-made cascading waterfall atop a limestone hill, a 2km boardwalk over the swamp and lookout towers.
What to Expect?
This limestone area was explored way back in 1880 by a Malay tin miner, whereby the mining activities were carried out in the caves here. This area was also turned into an iron ore mining area which developed a disrupted landscape area such as the swampy areas and lakes.
The Ipoh Local Plan Study 2020 outlined the 111.93 hectares Gunung Lang Area as the Stage 2 Environmentally Sensitive Area and needs to be conserved. The only developments permitted for this area are eco-tourism, research and education. The uniqueness of the limestone formation surrounded by the beautiful yet serene lake also attracts visitors as it is situated close to the Ipoh city centre.
Visitors can take a cruise to tour the lake, and experience the beautiful sights the surrounding has to offer:
If you are from Ipoh, it is only 5 minutes away from Ipoh town. You need to follow Jalan Kuala Kangsar which leads to Kuala Kangsar. If you are from Kuala Lumpur, you only need to exit from the North South Expressway at the Ipoh Utara exit. You will see the signboard for the Gunung Lang Recreational Park 1km from there. There are spacious parking spots which are free of charge by the lake. Boat fare to the island is varied by children, students and adults.

2 months agoBoat trip to gunung lang is surprisingly short. It is really a recreational park but on the island. The waterfall did not turn on during weekday so I am quite disappointed. But the view is good and a lot of recreational activities can do with fam. They do hv bicycle rent but not open during weekday. The tower can be go up but a lot of monkeys. There are few animals to see.

4 months agoMarvellous view of waterfall and waterfront at the entrance. The environment is so cool with flash of water to our face during our stand there. Ride on boat also affordable. It's very relaxing event for those who want to breakthrough the busy townlife.

4 months agoBrought the boys to Gunung Lang for a change of scenery in ipoh. We were in for a surprise. What a lovely view we had. Took a boat ride across the lake and we found ourselves in the midst of a beautiful garden with lots of gazebos and some animals.
Most nostalgic I guess was the chance to pick up saga seeds with the children. We could also buy bread from a shop and fed the fishes. The kids loved it.
Totally recommend this place! -
