What to Expect?

La Hot Spring (Taman Rekreasi Air Panas La Hot Spring) is located in Hulu Terengganu remote area about 28 km from Jerteh town, Terengganu. This recreation center has actually long existed and have been visited by local residents during weekends and public holidays to enjoy the beauty of nature.

Visitors have the opportunity to watch the hot water which shoots out from a hill slope and flow directly into a pool. La Hot Spring water contains natural sulphur which is said to have healing properties. It is good for curing skin diseases and can be used for bathing. Hot water containers, Wading Pool, are also available here.

There are also man made hot springs and spa-like pools meant for the public to enjoy the warmth of the hot springs with privacy. The number of visitors coming to this place has never lessen as there are people coming everyday. The main attraction is the natural hot spring which is believed to be able to cure diseases while maintaining body freshness. La Hot Spring also provides various facilities for the public such as rest house, prayer room, lavatories, restaurants and many others.

The more adventurous go abseiling, trek along jungle paths and go caving. Fishing in the river and camping are popular activities. The rocks are one of the attractions. Under a 20 m high rock called Batu Bahtera (Ship Rock) is a 15 m “secret” passage. Crawl under the rock and you’ll get to the other side.

Continue walking another 20 minutes and you’ll come to Sungai Misteri. The river is thus named as it disappears into a large hole near Sungai Ping. Nearby is a scenic spot, Lata Berangin, where water falls majestically down a 50 m rocky surface into a pond. Other places of interest include Batu Katak (Frog Rock), Gua Kelawar and Kolam Puteri.

There are also chalets for rent for those who wish to spend a night there.
