Introduction

Hugging the southwestern coastline of Langkawi, Pantai Cenang is the most popular beach on this Malaysian paradise island, and it’s not hard to realise why: White Sands, Swaying Palms, and the Andaman Sea

What to Expect?

Known as Pantai Cenang in Malay, the balmy water of the Andaman Sea combined with soft white sand is enough of a draw in itself. The beach is a 2km long stretch of white sand located on the western shoreline of Langkawi.

Add to that the laid-back beach vibe of the town, along with a scattering of top seafood restaurants and some hip beachfront bars, then you have the ingredients for a winning combination. Time drifts by merrily in Pantai Cenang, so make sure you give yourself plenty of it when you visit.

There’s usually a swaying green palm to catch some shade under if the sun gets too much, or a quick dip in the turquoise waters should be enough to cool yourself down. When a refreshment is in order just duck into one of the bar shacks overlooking the sea, where all manners of freshly prepared tropical juices are just a quick buzz of a blender away.

Pantai Cenang is Langkawi’s most popular area where the majority of local and international eateries, duty-free shopping complexes, and luxury resorts are located along its gorgeous beach. With countless visitors lounging on the sandy beach and enjoying spa treatments and massages, Pantai Cenang is the best place for sunbathing and exciting water sports such as jet skiing and parasailing.

For families with children, Pantai Cenang also houses two of Langkawi’s most popular attractions, namely Underwater World Langkawi and Rice Garden Museum. Explore the best of Pantai Cenang by checking out our Top 10 places to visit in this tourist-friendly beachside, where rest and relaxation reign supreme all day long.

Get Your Adrenaline Pumping with Some Wild Water sports

Water sports go hand-in-hand with popular beaches, and Pantai Cenang is no different. Just a short stroll along the seafront will quickly reveal to you the wide variety of activities that can be enjoyed in the sea here. Many hotels and resorts on the beach have dedicated water sports centres. If you are with a group then banana boat ride is a great choice as you can all do it together.

For speed junkies, twisting the throttle on a jet ski will no doubt quench your cravings, or if something a little slower takes your fancy then why not try your hand at windsurfing. Water-skiing and wakeboarding are also both on the menu here, along with parasailing if you’d rather soar above the water than along the surface of it. If you want to get out on the water but would rather stay dry, then booking up a joyride on a boat is a good option.

The beach is nice. But there are too many cars bringing jetsky every morning to the beach and take them away in the evening while the beach is full of people. The sand is over compact . Not soft. The city council/tourist board need to find a solution, a place to store the jetsky and not have all the jeeps going up and down the beach.

Everyone should come to the beach here to enjoy the sea breezes, beautiful views and enthusiasm of the locals. It's so relaxing even if you were doing nothing, just sitting at the beachside and looking at the scenery.

Here provided some water activities including banana boat, parasailing, jet ski and other. I have a little bit of regret that I didn't try these due to thalassophobia, but every friend who tried is all giving out a good response.

A very busy beach scene, with lots of beach goers and business operators. You have plenty of shops on the street as well as those facing the beach selling food, souvenirs, beach items and manu more. Worth making the trip here. They also have water sport activities during the day and fire show at

Nice place but quite crowded. A lot of fun and shows here. Definitely you won't regret coming here..
It's a good place to hang out with your friends as well.

Also, there are a lot of stalls around this road where you can buy your souvenir.

If you drive by your car, ensure a park your car at a designated public car park. You will get a summon if you park behind the road.
