What to Expect?

The Kanching Eco Forest Park is located at Rawang and is about 21 km away from Kuala Lumpur. If you are looking for a few hours off your regular routine, head for this tropical rain forest and spend one to three hours here. This forest is a popular spot for a picnic during the weekends. It has seven waterfalls and pools have been built to contain the clean water that falls down from the hills.

Known for its seven tiers of waterfalls, Kanching Eco Forest Park is a park with the most waterfalls in Selangor. You will discover that this forest reserve is like a carnival of waterfalls with varying heights and landscapes where you can choose to take a refreshing dip in the crystal clear water of Kanching River. Some waterfalls are small but powerful; some gentle and graceful; some plummeting; and some cascading majestically. They are a feast for the senses. With so many waterfalls to choose from, finding the perfect spot to revel in its beauty may not be an easy decision to make.

Upon entering the park, visitors are greeted by a small space for picknicks, a few swings, and even a little restaurant. This area is also inhabited by a few monkeys so keep an eye on your belongings. If you advance further into the forest and follow the water, you will be greeted by the first tier of the waterfall, complete with a small pond that is open for swimming.

Waterfall at tier 1 and 2 are suitable for everyone. Waterfall at the top would require certain levels of fitness to reach there, though it's usually quieter and cleaner on the upper tier.

Caution: Downpour at the hills will cause the river to rise rapidly. Stay safe and be careful of slippery stones. Guard your belongings from light-fingered monkeys.

A beautiful waterfall place but unfortunately had been terrorized and vandalized by irresponsible people that left their trash & leftovers around the place (polystyrene, beer cans, plastic bags were found everywhere. Even a whole rusty grill set. Seriously people?) Better ban this kind of people from coming to any nature place like this.

Nevertheless the nature here is very picturesque. Got several levels/steps of waterfalls for you to take a dip in. Need to hike a bit but if you can hike higher you'll get more privacy & more beautiful scenery. There are cement steps & pathways so you need to be careful while both ascending/descending the time trails.

✍️A refreshing waterfall which is reachable by a small trek. Young Malaysians come in groups with all accessories like a Tent, eatables, barbeque etc to spend a few hours. Better to reach early and finish early else you can easily get caught in traffic. Not very spectacular but an ok item to add in your Malaysia exploration list ?????

I was here for a group hiking activity at Bukit Unyang (must have hiking permit and guide). All cars parked in Taman Eko Rimba Kancing.

    1. Parking fee RM5 for each car (gate open at 6.30AM).

    2. There are several food stalls and the prices are reasonable (more to local foods).

    3. The surrounding area is quite clean (parking area, food stalls & park areas), only need to have more trash bin in the area to avoid littering everywhere.

    4. The condition of public toilets and bathrooms is quite sad and not very clean. A person is charged of 50 cents. Please upgrade the toilet and bathroom and to charge a reasonable entrance fee. I dont think this is an important issue, public/visitor could pay as long the surroundings are clean and tidy.

    5. The waterfall area is dirty with trash left by visitors who are still low-minded and selfish. Avoid going during school holidays or public holidays. I feel sorry for the cleaner workers too.

Fun!!! But only if it’s not crowded. We went at 730am on a weekend. Climbed up a little bit but did not summit as were told it was closed. Many locals come here to swim, chill, picnic, even BBQ. Expect decent wildlife if you come during a quiet time.

Very scenic place. The hike till the 3rd waterfall is easy. We were in a group with kids and they had no challenges with the distance. Be careful of the monkeys. They do try and open bags if un attended. The water is cool and good for swimming.
