Situated just around the southern road bend of Pantai Cenang, Pantai Tengah is a basically a continuation of Pantai Cenang. It is where you can get all the kicks of Pantai Cenang, without having to mingle with the crowd of tourists.

What to Expect?

Unless there was a rocky cliff separating the two beaches, Pantai Tengah would have been an extension of Pantai Cenang Beach. In fact there is a restaurant The Cliff which is located on top of the rocks that separate the two beaches. From there you can see the long curving stretch of Pantai Cenang Beach on your right (north).

It is ideal for those who want to stay close to the action of the Cenang but want to avoid the associated hubbub. While the beach is similar in appearance to Pantai Cenang, but it is far quieter and tranquil, and unaffected by the rush of tourists. The beach is fringed by a row of palm and coconut trees that provide shades on a sunny day. The beach is great for both romantic couples and families.

Visitors can easily swim from there, however beware of occasional jellyfish in the waters here. The water at the beach is clear blue most time of the year except during the monsoon when it tends too get a little murky.

An attraction at the northern end of the beach are the rocks that separate this beach from the more popular Pantai Cenang Beach. If you are a little adventurous, climb up the rocks and get wonderful view of the ocean and islands offshore from top of the rocks. It's not very difficult.

There’s not much sightseeing here; truth be told that’s the case for most of Langkawi Island. However, there are more than a few ways to kick back and relax; spas are a dime a dozen and finding a tour operator to liven your day up with an island-hopping or mangrove eagle-feeding tour is as easy as pie. There are also watersports activities like parasailing and jet ski for rent.

Pantai Tengah is a good place for gastronomic options and the nightlife scene here is definitely something to shout about but shopping outlets are sparse.

There are a few basic chalets here as well as a few big, all-inclusive resorts here that are especially popular with young families.

Beautiful stretch of beach. Soft sand but water is not the best. Many activities like jet ski rentals to parasailing.

Located 15-20 mins walk away from Pantai Cenang. It’s Saturday and was not that crowded. You can enjoy water-sport, swimming and drink coconut.

One of the better beach in Langkawi. Clean beach, clear water and nice scenery. Less crowded with some privacy. Well maintained.

Pantai Tengah beach is a beautiful stretch of white sand beach on the Western coastline of Langkawi island. The beach has nice sunset views. Water sports activities like parasailing, jet ski, banana boat are available. It can get quite hot on the beach so do apply adequate sunscreen lotion.

Nice and cozy beach a little hidden from the crowds.

Mostly clean and very good place to watch the sunset.
