Introduction

A recreational nature park at the foothills of Cameron Highlands, located about 12km from Tapah town. A large but mostly shallow river flows through the park, with a subterranean hot spring that heats up a small section of the sandy river bed.

What to Expect?

Kuala Woh Recreational Forest (Hutan Lipur Kuala Woh) is a riverside jungle park located close to Tapah in Perak. The flowing river, mature trees and hidden valley setting provide a pleasant atmosphere for lovers of nature and the outdoors.

In the shallow river, there's a section where hot spring bubbles to the surface, so there is one patch of the river bank which has natural hot water. There is also a native fruit arboretum here, including durian trees. There is a hanging bridge across the river where visitors can use to cross the river.

Facilities

The basic facilities available here are open halls, chalets, cottages breaks, bridges, restrooms, campsites and caravan sites. Though some of these are in need of repair and refurbish.

A popular spot during weekends, some of the activities here include camping, jungle-trekking and swimming. As the park lies hidden in thick rainforest, the park enjoys peaceful surroundings except for a glut of visitors on weekends. Entrance to Kuala Woh is free and accommodation facilities are available in the form of A-frame chalets, bungalows and camping grounds.

Open from 7am to 6pm. There is no entrance fee.

Getting There

It is easy to find being located just off the main Tapah to Cameron Highlands road (Highway 59). From Tapah drive for 12 kilometres until Kampung Batu Tujuh where there is a signpost pointing right to Kuala Woh. The entrance to the recreational forest is about 800m from the turn off.

I went today & sadly it was temporarily closed to public due to the raining season. They have been closed since mid November 2022 until this year end. This information was confirmed with the person in charge of the place.

Sadly it was not well maintained. The scenic was awesome but the facilities need to be repair & refurbished. Hope the authorities can take some action to preserve this place.

It was my first time here & I’m amased to see that this river have a small part of the hot spring. The water is hot here. You can even cook the eggs here at the spot.

Having a wonderful experience spending time at this eco park. Lovely scenery, the river is unique (where else can you have hot & cold water at the same river! Cool huh?!), have hanging bridge, gazebo, bbq spot, camping sites, public toilet & place to change clothes after recreational activities, chalets & many more. We had splendid time spending here for 2 days & 1 night camp out here. Will come here again for sure.
