Introduction
With more than 100 animal species to discover, Johor Zoo is an unmissable attraction. Spend a few hours with the animal kingdom, watching, learning and enjoying indigenous and non-native wildlife.
What to Expect?
It is a very much smaller scale zoo with an area of about 12.5 hectares compared to Singapore Zoo or Zoo Negara in Kuala Lumpur. However, this zoo is a popular place where families with young children go during the weekends and public holidays for a time of recreation or simply getting together for a time of relaxation. There are good facilities such as benches that you can use as picnic spots.
The zoo is clean and well organized with clean food selling around the stalls. This is definitely one favorite spot for families especially the children. There are animal shows for the entertainment of you folks too.
Wander through its grounds to see lions, crocodiles, bears, elephants, flamingos, gorillas, wallabies and much more. Among the highlights are the hippos in their enclosure. Take a seat for the bird show and watch some of the animals being fed.
Activities and Facilities
One of the activities that you can do while here is paddling the boat at the mini lake located near the entrance of the zoo. Young children will be excited with this activity. There is also a photography corner where you can take some pictures with the animals. Horse riding is another interesting event that you will enjoy.
Playgrounds, food stalls, recreation square and restrooms are also provided for the convenience of visitors. Bring along a cap and water as the temperature can be quite hot and humid in the afternoon.

3 months agoDespite their commonly cited benefits, zoos are no home sweet home for animals. Even at their best, they can never replicate or replace animals’ chosen and natural habitats.
Animals have very limited space and their natural instincts like are either like running, roaming, flying, climbing, foraging, choosing a mate, raising a family, and being with others of their species get reduced drastically or taken away completely.
The loud noise from the visitors can be disturbing for animals and instigate them to act ferociously. This natural instinct to defend themself (instigated by our stupidity) is then classified as dangerous. You can't expect wild animals to be tamed.
If you wanna learn about animals, make them watch documentaries. -

3 months ago[IMPORTANT] It's closed until further notice. Most likely until next year (2021). Was disappointed that the closure was not updated on any social website and no one picked up the hotline.
