Introduction
The picturesque Bagan Lalang Beach is the only beach in Sepang district. About an hour’s drive from Kuala Lumpur, the beach is favourite getaway for Klang valley city dwellers.
What to Expect?
Located in Sepang district, the municipal council has taken steps to improve the area’s facilities with the construction of new food courts, paved walkways and public toilets.
Nowadays, Bagan Lalang beach is packed on weekends with visitors taking part in fishing, kite-flying, BBQ sessions, water sports activities such as kayaking and even camping, for which there is no charge.
Low Tide
During low tide visitors can walk about 1km towards the sea. Make sure you bring a cap and sun glasses as the weather is usually hot and humid in the afternoon.
High Tide
During high tide, the beach becomes an ideal place to dip into the sea water to cool the day off. Children can enjoy themselves by the shore but do watch out for the tide and waves.
Walk along the beachside promenade to experience the quiet and tranquil surrounding, or rent a boat from PNK Sepang Resort, located about 500m from the beach, for a two-hour river cruise along Sungai Sepang Besar as well as a visit to a mussels and fish farm.
There are plenty of shaded areas under the tree, making it an ideal spot for picnic and resting under the sun.
Food and Hawkers
Pantai Bagan Lalang is also well-known for its “ikan bakar” or barbequed fish sold at the beachfront food courts. Restaurants and stalls that serve various fish and other seafood dishes are opened till late night to cater for the ever-increasing number of tourists.
During weekends and public holidays, there are mobile stalls that are set up along the road near the beach that sell kites, clothes, shoes, sandals, food and drinks.
The place is also ideal for camping, as you would see families setting up tent along the shore under the shade.
Hotels
Pantai Bagan Lalang is also home to the several resorts and homestays, like AVANI Sepang Goldcoast resort, a floating resort laid out in the shape of a palm tree. Other notable hotels within walking distance from the beach includes Movenpick and Hotel Seri Malaysia.

They are toilets available for showering after quick dip and the beach with RM 1 and cozy surau too.
After quick dip and picnic, I suggest to dinner at nearest restaurant, there are plenty of ikan bakar style.
Ample park are available and they are also have place for camping. -

8 months agoGreat place to have a family picnic. Come early and find a place with shade or else it’ll get too sunny and hot during the afternoon. Also, research thoroughly about the tides and such. You don’t want a picnic with less sea view like we did ?
