Magic World Penang

"I've been there before the Covid19 and it was FANTASTIC! SPENT MORE TIME THAN PLANNED THERE. Used to have loads of activities, like group excursions, gater all together to the beach playing volleyball, parties in town.. It is super CENTRAL, 2min walking to Love lane, and loads of clubs around.. also plenty of street food all around. Aircon in the rooms!. And a super welcoming staff, thanks to the charismatic and lovely owner David for the journey!
Now as most of places is way too quiet as there is no people around. Hope it gets back to normal again soon. Defo recommend!"

"Bird park is good.. lot of varieties of birds are there.. you can easily roam around with them in open.. best thing of bird park that it was huge. They also have bird show and other shows at a particular timings.. so better check their timings before you go if you want to see them. We saw bird show and it was great.. my kid really enjoyed that.. no need to pay extra for that.. take your own water bottle as there is no drinking water inside.. food and other stuff is not allowed inside.. you have to pay extra to keep them in locker.. botonical garden is also nearby.. can easily go there by cab or taxi.."   View

MinNature Malaysia

"This place might be a little off the beaten track, but it was worth the effort getting here. The exhibits testify to a lot of painstaking effort being invested in their creation, with the amount of intricate detail included. There is also some attempt at making the exhibits interactive, as visitors can touch buttons to activate lights, sounds, and movements, and that helped keep the kids entertained while the adults admired the tiny pieces of art on display. Staff members are also friendly.

The rest of the mall that this place is located in does not look too exciting, so this likely has to be a trip specially made to visit this place, but we did not begrudge the 30-minute drive from our hotel in the city centre. We also saw that work was being done to add to the collection, so ..."

Taman Rakyat Park Klang

"Great park in an area accessible to residents in Klang South.

The open space in the lower level is good for walks for all age group and is well lit into the late evening when the air is cooler.

The upper level inside the wooded area is more undulating and provide good workout if you do it at a fast pace. The highest level provide views of the town.

The popularity of the park also reflects the lack of comparable facilities in other park of this town.

Parking is inadequate on most evenings, especially since many mobile stalls take up space in the outer parking area"

"It's a private museum. Rm5 per entry for adult. It's good to know the history of tin mining which basically kick started Malaya economy and until now, still holding the record of No. 1 tin mining industry in the whole world. Guided tour is an extra here because the staffs would approach u to give u the tour if they're not busy with other chores. U r lucky if u r approached with 1. My tour guide is Pow, an intern doing his internship with the mine museum. Good effort from him. Oh yeah, u can try mendulang here. It's fun. Definitely a yes go esp for family and for the knowledge."   View

Tanjung Tualang Tin Dredge No. 5

"RM 8 if you opt for guided tour. RM 4 for self guided (20% discount on the day I visited, don't know what time the promotion ends. So normal price is 10 and 5 respectively). However, those who bought the self guided ticket are not allowed to enter the Tin Dredge. I opted for guided tour and I didn't regret one bit. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable regarding Malaysian Tin mining history, tin mining process, just about everything regarding tin. I was kinda overwhelmed by his very detailed explanation but he was very considerate, he will ask me if I understood what he said whenever I looked confused. And that makes him a professional tour guide. ?? He was also willing to answer my questions after the tour ended.
* RM 20 for foreigners.
*Maximum 15 people each tour.

Big Red Strawberry Farm

"I didn't manage to get in the farm because of parking issue but it looks like a very nice place a lot of pretty flowers I can see from my car. The parking space are spread up to the steep area up the hill, one way entry so you need to go whole round in case you missed a spot :( the exit is a bit scary as it was going down a steep down the hill, as a first timer going there this is not an easy way I guess. perhaps next time I'll go there again but will park at downhill before the entrance to this place."   View

Johor Zoo

"Have been here at least once a year. One of the few zoo in southern district of Johor. The price of tickets are very cheap. Can go to the zoo by public transportation. The public stops at the front entrance. Certainly old-fashioned as the zoo has been operating for quite some time.

A relaxing environment, the zoo has few sections; land mammals, birds, primates and aquatic. There are food corners inside, mini stalls selling foods and cute items. Suitable to visit with family, partner, friends or even by yourself if you feel to."

Royal Selangor Visitor Centre

"Surprisingly informative and interesting. There's a small museum of pewter artifacts that date back couple hundred years. If you're coming, you have to book yourself a slot at the School of Hard Knocks, where you can craft a pewter bowl on your own and get to bring that home.

The factory tour is open on weekends, but the pewter craftsmen won't be there. You can still get to see how the pewter is crafted at the stations though. Recommended to do tours on weekdays

There's also a cafe that serves really good food and a retail corner. Prepare to spend around 3 to 4 hours if you're doing the tour and hard knocks."
