Introduction
A peaceful beach area with street vendors, public restrooms and shaded pavilions over the water.
What to Expect?
Minyak Beku beach is one of the popular destinations among the locals where people come to enjoy cool sea breeze and relax. It is located about 10km to the south of town, near the mouth of Sungai Batu Pahat. Its name means "Beach of the Coagulated Oil", and possibly goes back to when oil was seen on the beach. (Fear not, unlike the name, the beach is free of any sorts of oil stain today).
Although not suitable for swimming, Minyak Beku is ideal for fishing and you can often find fishing hobbyists in the area. There is a lighthouse and some warungs (coffee shops) near the beach where you can chill while sipping a cup of coffee.
You also can find Perigi Batu Pahat at this location.

in the last weekAn interesting place to relax the mind while looking at the sea view. Coincidentally, I visited on a rainy day, so couldn't heal for a long time

a month agoSunset view is amazing but the place is crowded. There is a playground for kids to play around as well. There are many food stalls where you can enjoy keropok lekor and cendol

4 months agoPantai minyak beku has an improvement rather than 10 years ago. The view is beautiful especially during sunsets. Really recommended for photogenic person ?. There also stalls selling food nearby, so don't worry be happy enjoy the view. But suggestions to go is during sunset or sunrise. Other than that just normal view of Minyak Beku beach. But for the water not recommend for bath because the condition of the water not too clean ?

7 months agoMy first time coming here. A very serene and calming place to relax yourself. From far you can see the tall landmark before reaching the beach, the firehouse.
During high tide in mornings, anglers come here to try their luck. We weren't so lucky though. At least we tried.
Luckily, we met this local guy with his catch. Instead of using fishing rods, he used other method which was 'jala'. He caught quite drums of fish called 'belanak'. People were quite amazed on how he got his catch. My wife took the chance to buy a kilo of the fish. Fresh from the sea!
Some may come here to get together with families and friends. Some riders may come here after a long journey of rides to catch up with some views and photo shoots.
However, swimming is a no-no here. Maybe because of the depth I think. The authority even put a signage to warn visitors.
Overall, I do like this place. We might come here again and try our luck once more.
