Introduction
In Hulu Langat, the river descends in a set of waterfalls known as the Gabai Falls (Malay: Air Terjun Sungai Gabai), a popular attraction for the locals, but relatively unknown with tourists. A cemented path leads from the parking to the lower falls. Along the path several shelters have been built. The upper falls can be reached by trails.
What to Expect?
Walk aross streams with the aid of wooden and concrete bridges and reach the peak of the multi-cascade waterfalls via a flight of cement stairs located adjacent to the falls. Along the way up are gazebos, where picnics may be enjoyed as you are surrounded by the thunderous roars of the gushing water and beautiful sights of the forest.
At the top is a cooling reward where another cascade and pool awaits. Continue past the end of the stairs to follow the river upstream or walk along the forest path just next to the river to find more pools to wade in.
Although Sungai Gabai is smaller compared to Sungai Congkak, it does offer great views making it a good spot for photography. There is also a small indigenous people village nearby called Kampung Orang Asli Sungai Gabai, as well as the Lepoh Waterfalls about half an hour’s drive away.

3 weeks agoUp to last year, This was a wonderful place with natural slide and waterfall.
But this year this place has been destroyed by landslide and now the place already closed.
Now Only accessible is the bottom of the waterfall but still risky because anytime more stone can fall to the bottom of the waterfall.
I really hope Malaysian govt will rebuild the structures. -

11 months agoOnce a great spot ruined by nature - we went there hoping for some epic water slides but nature had other plans because the entire trail git bulldozed by a landslide. We only had the base of the waterfall accessible which was fun but nowhere near what we could've experienced otherwise. Disappointed but I have not lost hope, maybe the site will be renovated and reopened? Or maybe it will be closed for good like a few other waterfalls? Let's see.
