Introduction
Taman Rimba Bukit Kerinchi is a verdant park south-west of the city centre. It’s highly popular among locals, who head here for a spot of picnicking, barbecuing and even camping.
What to Expect?
Considered the KL gateway into PJ’s Bukit Gasing (Gasing Hill), Taman Rimba Bukit Kerinchi managed by DBKL is situated in Lembah Pantai KL. And despite being the lesser known side of this wildly popular hill, at 66.15 hectares, it is actually the larger of the two.
There’s also a pond that’s great for a quick dip in warm weather. The forest area itself is huge with many small trails in between the main trails. This place is usually crowded during weekends and public holidays, and the hikers are generally friendly and will greet you along the way, willing to advise you which route to choose in case you get lost or confused. There are signboards attached to the trees at the junctions, that will be good help for the new hikers.
The trails varied in terms of difficulty, but none require the climbing tools. Some are easy trails suitable for the kids & the rest are moderately challenging which can be good for endurance training.
Main access to the hill:
1) The arch entrance written “Hutan Pendidikan Bukit Gasing” at the top - you can access from Federal Highway
This is the most popular, please waze “Hutan Pendidikan Bukit Gasing” but parking could be challenging.
2) Taman Rimba Bukit Kerinchi - the access is from Pantai Dalam/NPE Highway
Please waze “Taman Rimba Bukit Kerinchi” and it will bring you straight to the steel bridge.
3) Pantai Hill Park near Pusat Komuniti Lembah Pantai.
Toilet facilities are available at Taman Rimba Bukit Kerinchi. No stalls selling the drink inside the jungle so bring enough water to get yourself hydrated. However, although the weather is very hot outside, the shady trees will keep you cool inside the jungle.

in the last weekEnjoyable dense green patch .. well paved and mostly clearly marked trails. Even though we hiked around noon, it was quite cool because of the dense canopy. Places to picnic and chill at the start of the trail, very clean and well maintained.
Trails are beginner to moderate level- we did it with a 9 and 13 yo who were comfortable in the climb. Great place to spend the day ! -

Either come very early or much later; came in between and the roadside parking were all the way far from the venue, bottleneck occurred and have to reverse all the way for the earlier visitors to exit
Monkeys came out during this visit, to maintain safe distance or use zoom during photography session; loved their facial expressions
Hanging bridge was closed during the last visit but we may still hike our way to the other side;
Glad to observe some special plants too;
Well shaded inside & a good workout visit indeed
(Initial review)
Convenient parking spaces, whether along the roadside or even the proper bays
The only female toilet is shared by all genders; Thankful for this convenient place to relieve ourselves and also clean up after the hike
It's a very good place for the mix of hiking and running activities; having hiking stick helped; nice to see a polite dog along the way - it won't jump or bark at you & just standing there and looking at you and around
I'm quite thrilled to hear the rustling of tree tops made by the movement of those monkeys
Can be quite crowded and having occasional "human-jam" along certain trail
It's worth it to spend some time here
I really liked this place in spite of muddy shoes after that
Caution: Heard that we may end up on the other side of parking space or some other place during the attempt to return to the car park; if unfamiliar, better ask around or go with someone who is familiar of the direction -

4 weeks agoThere is a lot of parking but there are many visitors and if you come late you have to wait for visitors who want to go home.. I hope the forest here continues to be protected..
