What to Expect?

Sungai Kedondong Recreational Forest is located alongside the road from Batang Kali to Gohtong Jaya in the Genting Highlands. It is quite basic, with some stalls, a popular place during the weekends for family picnics. The river water is clean and there are beautiful cascades. Take a short trekking to reach the beautiful waterfall with a huge pool.

Nature lovers interested in savouring the sights and sounds of flora and fauna as well as untouched natural landscapes will find this place a hidden gem.

There is also a nice waterfall upstream of the park, less that one hour trekking away. From the car park there are steps down to the river and you will find that a rather vague trail starts there. This is considered an easy route for trekking, the small waterfall with pretty cascades also comes with a moderately deep pool. Follow this trail or the river bed. Huge boulders make the river trekking interesting but also sometimes difficult.

Cool place for outdoor and camping activities.

The area is clean, no fees required. Toilet is clean and reasonable ok.

Good place. Just how I like it except.. thrash. Thrash everywhere! Malaysian don't have the decency to keep their thrash to themselves. I said this as a Malaysian Malay. Feeling very ashamed of my people.

Easy trail hike. Access to the river is easy, it’s close to the parking lot, if you want to visit the waterfall, it’ll be a hike.

Visited Air terjun Sungai Kedondong on 25/6/2022. Arrived the car park at around 1pm. To reach this place. Kindly google Bayu Dingin Sungai Kedondong and you will reach the car park. Parking is plenty and no parking fee. There is a toilet at the parking but however, the public toilet is dirty and no supply water inside the toilet. The water supply came from the adjacent restaurant and the owner is kind enough to clean and maintain the condition of the toilet FOC. Thumb up for the effort. To get to waterfall, you need to locate the children playground. Slightly further to the playground, you will see the concrete stairs that lead you to the hiking trail. Follow the trail and you need to hike at least 40mins that passing lots of rocks. The hiking trail was slightly difficult and is around 816m from the parking. I would rate for easy to moderate. I brought both my elderly parents 70++ to this waterfall. They managed to reach the fall by taking in less than 40mins. The hiking trail is pretty easy to follow, thanks to other hikers that put some red tapes on the trees to mark the direction. If you are newbies like me, just follow the hiking trail and the red tapes left by the hikers. I have to say there are lots of climbing over the big rocks. The rocks are literally everywhere. That is the special attraction of air terjun sungai kedondong. For the entire hiking trails is only on the right side of the river. So you are just literally seeing the river on your left during the hiking. I didn't see any leeches for my trip. The weather was good on Saturday and surprisingly there were not many people during my hike. Most of them were just played at the river not far from the hiking entrance. Cos the scene there was very nice with lots of big rocks and cold water. Lots of young guys like to play there. The water is pretty deep and rocks are very slippery. Water is extremely cold. There was one group of guys set up the tent and camping overnight. Look pretty cosy and enjoyed. I strongly recommended to come and enjoy yourself. Malaysia is blessed with lots of beautiful hiking spots and waterfalls. The hiking is considered pretty clean. Hope the hikers can continue to maintain the cleanliness of this place for next generation. PS: no monkeys were seen during my visit.
