What to Expect?

If you have time to spare, one of the main to-dos in Desaru is to take a stroll along the white sand on Desaru beach. The public beach faces the South China Sea, and is relatively clean and well maintained.

Here, you can enjoy fun-filled activities such as fishing, boating, swimming, hiking, as well as other outdoor activities. Take the opportunity to relax or get that sexy tan while listening to rushing waves and enjoying the cool breeze.

It’s quiet and peaceful at this beach since swimming is not advisable due to strong waves. There are no lifeguards here too so mind your kids!

In the vicinity there are a lot of mid to high end resorts and properties. Desaru Coast is the first premium integrated destination resort with projects taken off with the opening of The Els Club Champion golf course, Waterpark Adventure, Riverside & 4 five star hotels due to open in 2019 - The Westin , Hard Rock Hotel , One & Only & Anantara Resort & Villas.

- Rest under the Casuarina trees that fringe the beach
- Go surfing
- Jet-ski
- Bring along a picnic lunch/breakfast

Best Time to Visit Desaru Beach

Like most of the coastal destinations in Malaysia, Desaru Beach is highly seasonal. The monsoon season is between November and February which sees winds and rain – however there is still plenty of sunshine so you’ll still see plenty of visitors around during these months.

The most popular season to visit Desaru Beach though is from June to August – this is prime time for Desaru Beach activities. However to avoid the busiest times April and May, or September and October are ideal times to visit.

Nice sand lovely waves. Ample parking in this area for a public beach.

There is a small cafe nearby for drinks and water sports rental. A good sized toilet is nearby as well though not well maintained.

Just went yesterday,we can't swim because it's very windy and the water is dirty. The parking fees for cars are RM 8.00, last time we had to pay RM 5.00, maybe increase every month so ?. Other than that we do barbeque and happy ourselves. ?

Windy, soft sand, almost clear water - that's what I thought about this beach. At times you spot some shells and of course there are lots of beautiful spots for photo moment. What you need to be aware of - parking place, jam, crowded area near the parking place, rubbish littered and I do hope these issues can be settled soon

Beach are clean and peaceful. Would have to pay a fee of RM6 for a open parking though.
Toilet could be improve in terms of cleanliness and especially after learning from the pandemic, would be good to have hand soap and such available.
Nonetheless, we enjoyed the calming vibe when we went on weekdays and the coconut shakes are really refreshing and delicious! ?

The beach's overall condition is lovely, making it ideal for family and friend outings (kiting, picnic, volleyball, etc). The only drawback is that the sea water is a greyish colour. You may bring your own picnic food and must clean up after the picnic.
