What to Expect?
That's Lata Kinjang for you!
Lata Kinjang is located in Bukit Tapah Forest Reserve, 18 km from Tapah, a small town in Perak which you may heard its name by PLUS expressway’s RSA which more known as R&R Tapah. You may see the waterfall on the right from the highway if you are going north.
The main attraction of Lata Kinjang is the multi-tiered waterfall that cascades for 100 m down the side of the mountain. It is also called Eco-Forest Park Lata Kinjang. Lata Kinjang is one of the highest waterfall in South East Asia as the whole falls at Lata Kinjang is said to total 850 m in height.
This waterfall is one of the best known falls in Malaysia, because it can be seen very well from the N-S highway. But many people have never actually visited the fall, because the access road is not straightforward. Coming from KL via the N-S highway, you take the Tapah exit and continue north on the trunk road nr 1. Follow the signboards to Chenderiang. Past this village the road to the falls is clearly indicated. At the end of this raod, there are hawker stalls and you can park your car.
The district is home to several orang asli settlement. One may wade or swim in the many recess pools into which the cascades empty. A scrubby row of food stalls and an orchid garden is located at the bottom of the falls. It’s name originated from ‘kijang’ which means deer in English.
Facilities provided in the forest includes public car park, toilets, rest huts, information stalls and prayer.
Open from 7.00 am to 6.00 pm. For camping and overnight, you are required to contact the District Forest Office.
